Attic fire damages Columbia home

Columbia fire investigators are looking for the cause of a Tuesday night attic fire.

Just before 10 p.m. firefighters were called out to the 100 block of Spring Valley Road, off West Broadway.

Crews arrived to heavy fire and smoke coming from the roof above the garage. They were able to get the fire under control within five minutes.

No one was injured. Damage is estimated to be around $75,000. Fire investigators have yet to determine a cause.
