Osage Co. Sheriff makes St. Louis County court appearance

The Osage County Sheriff appeared in St. Louis County Court Monday afternoon for a pre-trial conference.

Sheriff Michael Dixon is charged with tampering, harassment, stalking, and sexual misconduct in Osage County. Last summer, a Belle police officer claimed Dixon touched her inappropriately with a flashlight and allegedly went to her house, called her repeatedly, and asked police dispatch for help.

The tampering charge stems from an allegation that Dixon took an ATV that belonged to the victim’s fiance in order to find her one night.

John Beger, the Phelps County prosecutor working this case, told ABC 17 News Dixon originally intended to ask for continuance in the case, but did not file that when the state said they were against it.

The case is set for trial on July 14.
