Former longtime Mid-Missouri mayor dies

Funeral arrangements are pending after the death of a former longtime Mid-Missouri mayor. Bernard “Bud” Kempf died Tuesday at the age of 82.

Kempf served as mayor of Boonville for 12 years, where he played a major role in bringing the new Isle of Capri casino to the area.

Back in February, the city council also renamed a road in Rolling Hills park in Kempf’s honor.
