Columbia police investigate shots fired near Worley Street Park

Columbia police are investigating a shots fired incident in the 500 block of West Worley Street, near Worley Street Park.

It happened on June 16 just after 630p.m., after several people reported hearing three gunshots on the north side of the park. Callers described seeing two vehicles leaving the park shortly after, but are unsure if they were involved in the incident.

Police say a male gunshot wound victim arrived at a local hospital just before 7p.m. The 18-year-old victim was taken into surgery and has a non-life-threatening injury.

There is no suspect information and no arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.
