More road closures in Columbia beginning Monday

Columbia drivers will see more road closures Monday.

The Columbia Public Works Department said they will begin installing a drain system on East Ash Street starting Monday morning at 7.

That means Ash Street will be closed between College Avenue and St. James Street.

Weather permitting, the project should be completed and the road re-opened by July 7.

The Highway 63 on-ramp from southbound will be shut down beginning Monday while repairs are being made.

MODOT said the ramp work will increase safety and minimize backups onto Highway 63 during peak travel times.

Drivers on Broadway or Route WW will need to access Highway 63 south by using 63 north and then exiting the highway onto Vandiver. They can then drive over Highway 63 and access 63 southbound.
