Jefferson City police arrest man for rape, burglary
Jefferson City police have arrested a man wanted in a rape and burglary case.
Police have been looking for Dana Day Jr., 24, for more than a month and caught up to him Thursday night.
He was arrested in the 300 block of Jackson Street, after fleeing a traffic stop where he was a passenger in the car.
Searching online court records, he has been charged for rape, burglary and assault, but details of the case are unknown.
Captain Doug Shoemaker of the Jefferson City Police said Day was difficult to find.
“There was lack of cooperation from those that maybe knew were he was. We had pits and pieces and some knowledge here and there. He kept moving around, and we just ran into some roadblock,” said Shoemaker.
Day remains in the Cole County jail.
