News Reporter-Jefferson City
The Networks of Mid-Missouri is seeking a full-time News Reporter for our newsroom in Jefferson City. The reporter must be a self-starter willing to work with the assignment desk in developing sources and generating content. Employee must have the flexibility to work in the modern newsroom and could be called upon to beat report, produce, web edit, shoot live shots, take still photos, write blogs, etc.
Job Description:
The successful candidate’s duties will include gathering information, writing, shooting, cultivating sources and editing stories from Jefferson City for nightly newscasts and the station’s website.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have the ability to communicate, strong writing and organizational skills, videography, video editing and professional on-camera presence. Bachelor degree in journalism, communication or related field is preferred. Previous newsroom experience is a plus. Candidate must have a valid Missouri driver’s license and pass a drug test and background check.
