Mizzou sports wrap for April 23, 2014
Baseball- Peter Fairbanks pitched eight strong innings while Dylan Kelly went 2-4, as Mizzou baseball upset Illinois 5-2 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. Fairbanks (4-4) got the win, striking out 3 and throwing 84 pitches in eight innings. Kelly’s biggest hit came in the fifth, getting a 2-out RBI scoring Shane Segovia and Logan Pearson. The Tigers will face No. 1 Florida over the weekend.
Softball- Tori Finucane threw a complete-game-shutout against Missouri State on Wednesday, as Missouri won 5-0. Angela Randazzo hit a solo shot, her sixth of the year, to make it a five run ball game. Mizzou is 7-0 all time against the Bears under Ehren Earlewine. Missouri will face No. 3 Florida over the weekend.
