Man shot in torso on Dunklin Street

Jefferson City police were searching for a gunman Friday night after a shooting sent one man to the hospital.

Neighbors called in reports of shots fired in the 400 block of East Dunklin Street around 6:30p.m. Friday.

One home was hit, a bullet shattering a living room window. Inside, police reported a 33-year-old man was shot in the torso. According to a news release, he was conscious and alert when emergency crews arrived.

The gunshot victim was unable to give a suspect description to police, but neighbors claimed to see two black men in a silver or grey Chrysler 300 sedan.

When ABC 17 News crews arrived at the scene Friday night, investigators were canvassing neighborhoods on the city’s east side, looking for evidence and suspects.
