Jefferson City firefighters battle two-alarm fire

Fire officials in Jefferson City say a two-alarm fire has caused massive damage to the maintenance facility for Missouri Highway Patrol Troop F.

The building is located off Highway 50 east of Jefferson City and is used as a service shop for vehicles.

Firefighters were called out around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday.

It was a two-alarm fire, so off-duty crews were called in to cover the rest of the city.

Investigators say the damage is estimated between $4 and $5 million dollars.

At the time of the fire, seven to 10 vehicles were inside the building.

The state fire marshal’s office has been called in to investigate the cause. No one was injured.
