Rock Bridge girls basketball wins third straight title

Sophie Cunningham had 23 points to lead the Rock Bridge Bruins to a third straight state title at Mizzou Arena on Saturday. Rock Bridge defeated Lee’s Summit North 62-45.

Despite going 0 for 4 from behind the arc, the Bruins dominated from the field, shooting 51.3 % for the entire game. Cierra Porter had 16 points, including a perfect 10 for 10 from the free throw line. Bri Porter had 12. Cunningham and the two Porters are Missouri commits.

The win was especially sweet for Bri Porter, who finally got to wear a medal during the ceremony after missing out with knee injuries in past seasons.

Rock Bridge finishes the year 26-3. The Bruins went 25-1 after losing their first two games of the season.
