Tigers draw Creighton in first WNIT game

Mizzou women’s basketball is WNIT-bound, after the tournament announced its 64-team field. The Tigers will take on Creighton in the opening game.

MU will play on Thursday with the time to be announced.

Robin Pingeton’s squad is 17-11 overall this season. Missouri will try to improve from last season’s WNIT appearance, when the Tigers dropped a home contest to Eastern Illinois in the opening round.

Missouri has made five previous WNIT appearances, with a 3-5 record overall. The Tigers have never won a WNIT game away from their home court. Robin Pingeton is appearing in her 12th WNIT and her second with the Tigers.

The WNIT is a 64-team tournament with 32 automatic bid teams and 32 at-large teams.
