Brown, Clarkson named to All-SEC teams
Missouri guard Jabari Brown was named to the All-SEC’s First Team while fellow classmate Jordan Clarkson was named Second Team All-SEC.
Brown, who is averaging 19.7 points per game, had 17 games with 20 points or more this season. That is the most in team history since Kareem Rush in 2001. Brown’s selection gives Mizzou its fourth straight first-teamer. Phil Pressey was selected last season. Kansas City native Marcus Denmon was First Team All-Big 12 in 2011 and 2012.
The Oakland, California native was a preseason selection for the SEC’s first team.
Clarkson is averaging 18.1 points per game and ranks 10th in the SEC in field goal percentage (.453). The Tulsa transfer has scored in double figures in 30 of 31 contests.
“I am so proud of Jabari and Jordan and applaud the way they have represented Mizzou as student-athletes,” Head Coach Frank Haith said in a statement.
Mizzou plays Texas A&M in the SEC Tournament on Thursday. Tip off is at Noon CT in Atlanta.
