Missing Pulaski County 4-year-old found

A multi-state search for a four-year-old missing from Pulaski County ended in Ohio early Sunday morning.

According to a sheriffs news release, Lance Webb, Jr. was found in Galion, Ohio by his biological father. The suspect, Christopher Wetherall, was arrested by Ohio authorities around 6 a.m. Sunday.

Webb, Jr.’s mother is active duty Army member. According to a missing poster, he was taken from his Waynesville home.

Sheriff Ron Long released Sunday that Webb, Jr.’s mother, Amber Edgison, had given Wetherall permission to take care of the boy while she was at Army Basic Training.

However, when Edgison requested a family member take care of Webb, Jr., she suspected Wetherall may have kidnapped the boy.

Edgison contacted the Children’s Division of the state Department of Social Services, which then contacted the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department on Friday.

Witnesses reported seeing Webb with Christopher Wetherall at Wetherall’s home about one week ago.

Local, state and federal law enforcement were working the investigation.

Wetherall was being held Sunday on a child kidnapping arrest warrant with $250,000 bond.

Extradition was expected to begin Monday, as the prosecuting attorney was seeking Wetherall’s return for trial.

The boy’s biological father was not believed to have known about the kidnapping and charges were not sought against him this weekend.
