Winds knock down barn, leave hundreds in the dark in Mid-Missouri

Winds were so strong Thursday they managed to knock down a barn just north of Jefferson City off Highway 94. The damage happened near the intersection of county roads 4031 and 4021.

The conditions also caused 10 separate power outages across Boone County, affecting more than 200 customers. Most had been repaired by early Thursday evening.

Boone Electric Cooperative confirmed there was an estimated 25 to 100 homes in the dark on Thursday in the southern part of the county because of strong winds.
