Flooding could be concern for parts of mid-Missouri
The National Weather Service issued a flood watch Wednesday evening for several counties in mid-Missouri, including Boone, Audrain, Cooper and Howard.
The ABC 17 Stormtrack weather team was predicting 1-1.25 inches of rain Wednesday night into Thursday, with the highest rainfall amounts in areas north of Interstate 70.
Between predicted rainfall and continued snow melting, county safety officials warned of overflowing waterways in low-lying, poorly drained areas.
That prompted a warning from Columbia/Boone County Joint Communications about slick roads and hydroplaning vehicles.
