Digital Content Director

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Digital Content Director duties will include but are not limited to generating and managing editorial content on, the ABC 17 Facebook page, the ABC 17 Twitter account and other mobile and online properties. The position will be expected to work with management on implementation of a strategic plan for the site and social media products. Position will be expected to work with other departments at the station on projects as well.

SKILLS: The right candidate will have a passion for breaking news and a good understanding of the news editorial process. The successful candidate will be organized, have strong writing skills, keep up with social media trends and have basic knowledge of computer programming and website back end work. This person will have the flexibility to operate in today’s television newsroom and the ability to produce newscasts, report and shoot video are all pluses.

HOURS/SCHEDULE: This is a full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday 11:00am – 8:00pm with flexibility required by the employee.

EDUCATION: A college degree in journalism, communication or a related field is preferred. Previous newsroom experience is a plus.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The position will require operation of a company vehicle or a personal vehicle for business use. Candidate must pass a drug test, background check, and MVR check.
