Jefferson City girl found, considered a runaway
The family of a Jefferson City girl missing since last month says she is safe, police now say she is in custody.
Sarah Rudjawitz’s family said Monday she had been found safe. Jefferson City police said she had been detained and was in the juvenile center.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported Rujawitz had last been seen on Jan. 27.
She is 16 years old with brown hair and hazel eyes. She is about 5’6″ tall and 160 pounds.
A Jefferson City police spokesman told ABC 17 News Monday Rujawitz was never considered a “missing person” by law enforcement because she was a runaway.
