Columbia teenager arrested for punching officer during school fight

A Columbia teenager was arrested Monday morning after he allegedly punched an officer in the face.

Columbia police say a school resource officer assigned to Rock Bridge High School was responding to a verbal argument between 17-year-old Larrell Green and a 16-year-old juvenile.

After the juvenile punched Green, the officer grabbed the juvenile. Green then attempted to punch the other teen, but instead punched the officer in the face.

Green was arrested for peace disturbance by fighting and third-degree assault of a law enforcement officer.

The juvenile was also taken into custody. The officer was not injured.
