Mizzou gymnastics hosts No. 22 Kentucky losing 195.150 to 193.775

On Friday night, the Missouri gymnastics team hosted No. 22 Kentucky coming up short to the Wildcast 195.150 – 193.775.

Missouri began the evening on vault where Junior Rachel Updike scored a team high of 9.925 and also took home the event title.

After the first rotation, Missouri trailed Kentucky 48.875 – 47.825.

Next on bars, junior Laura Kappler scored a 9.725. Updike was up next delivery for the team again with a 9.825.

Overall, the Tigers finished with an event score of 48.375 and trailed 97.775 – 96.200 after the first half of competition.

Missouri moved to beam for the third rotation where Mizzou finished with a team score of 48.650 and marking a new season high on beam.

Five of the six Missouri gymnasts finished with scores of 9.700 or above. Kappler and Updike each tallied a 9.725, junior Briana Conkle recorded a 9.700 score.

Heimsath and senior Mackenzie Gill finished the rotation with a 9.750. The mark set by Heimsath marked a new personal best on the event.

Floor was the final event of the night, the team scoring a 48.925.

New career highs were set by five of the six gymansts. Heismath and Blair Elmore (So.) score 9.775.

Freshman Anna Bowers ended the night with an event high of a 9.850.
