Wanted Morgan County rapist captured in Oregon

A convicted sexual offender wanted in central Missouri has been captured in Oregon.

According to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Timothy Register was arrested by police in Bend, Ore. after a Missouri bondsman alerted authorities of Register’s possible location.

Bend police found Register at a motel Tuesday morning and arrested him for an outstanding warrant.

Register was wanted for failing to obey a judge’s order for sentencing. Days before he was to be sentenced in October for first-degree statutory sodomy, first-degree statutory rape, and two counts of first-degree child molestation, Register fled Morgan County by cutting off his GPS bracelet.

He reportedly wrote to authorities stating he would not go back to prison.

Register is being held in Oregon awaiting an extradition hearing to be brought back to Morgan County to face sentencing for his crimes.
