Sturgeon man wanted for scamming elderly relatives out of $109,000

Law enforcement in Mid-Missouri are searching for a man they say is financially exploiting the elderly.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department says Farrel Gene Pride, 44, of Sturgeon exploited elderly relatives and collected $109,000 from the couple in April 2013.

The Sheriff’s Department says one of those exploited is terminally ill. The relatives contacted law enforcement after realizing they had been scammed.

Boone County prosecutors issued a warrant for Pride’s arrest on Jan. 3, but he remains at large despite several attempts to locate him.

Anyone with information on Pride’s whereabouts is asked to contact 911 or CrimeStoppers at (573) 875-TIPS.
