Jefferson City woman tries to break into a home, gets stabbed

A Jefferson City woman was stabbed and arrested after she allegedly tried to break into a home over the weekend.

Police were called to a home in the 300 block of E. Dunklin Street Saturday afternoon for a reported stabbing.

Officers say Sarah Cobb, 31, was attempting to enter a home in order to remove belongings. When the resident would not allow her inside, Cobb allegedly started to hit the door with a shovel, damaging the door.

Police say Cobb then began to break down the door with her shoulder. The resident told investigators she was fearing for children inside the home and told Cobb she would stab her if she continued.

When Cobb tried to force open the door, the resident stabbed her in the arm.

Cobb was arrested for first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and second-degree property damage.
