Columbia man charged for sex crimes against a child

The Boone County’s Cyber Crimes Task Force continues an investigation into a Columbia man suspected of having sex with a 13-year-old-girl.

Prosecutors charged 24- year-old, Christopher Snell with multiple sex crimes against a child today.

Court documents show that Snell admits he has violated more than one child.

Even though Snell has been arrested and charged, investigators are still looking through Snell’s phone and computer for more victims.

“While conducting an investigation I discovered an indication that there was a 13- year-old mid-Missouri girl that had been contacted by an adult online,” said Andy Anderson, with Boone County’s Cyber Crimes Task Force.

That adult was Christopher Snell according to court documents. Allegedly the two had met in a chat room and sent sexually graphic pictures to one another.

Investigator, Andy Anderson told ABC 17 News that Snell convinced the 13-year-old to sneak out of her home twice to meet up with him. It was then that they engaged in sexual activities.

The cyber crimes task force seized Snell’s phone and computer.

According to court documents investigators found child pornography and pictures of the young girl on his devices.

Snell admitted he had sexual contact with other minors he has met online according to court documents.
