Gunshots reported in northeast Columbia

Columbia police officers are investigating reports of gunfire heard early Monday. Three separate calls came in shortly before 4 a.m., with the callers each reporting 5-6 gunshots.

Officers went to the 1600 block of Boyd Lane, where the gunfire was reported, and found shell casings in the road. No damage was found, and there are no reports of injuries.

Officers were told a red SUV was seen leaving the area at the time, but it’s unknown if it is related to this incident. Police don’t have a suspect description at this time.
