Jefferson City workers win lottery prize

A group of nine coworkers in the capital city won a lottery prize from Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing.

The Urology Care employees — Louis Freidinger, Lisa Mietzner, Kathleen Webb, Sherri Whittington, Dr. Michael Severance, Dr. Eric Vogt, Laurie Werdehausen, Dr. Douglas West, and Janis Wetherell — won $5,000 from the the same drawing as the $648 million Mega Millions jackpot.

The employees will split the amount equally, amounting to about $555 per person.

Most of the workers said the money would help with preparing for Christmas next week and may even participate in a future Powerball or Mega Millions drawing.

Missouri Lottery officials says all but one employee at the medical office participated in the pool.
