Mexico, Mo. attorney found guilty of fraud
A central Missouri judge found a Mexico, Mo. lawyer guilty of fraud.
A Chariton County judge found James Clampitt, 42, guilty of felony fraudulent use of a credit device. He was found not guilty on two counts of theft and stealing.
The Missouri Attorney General’s Office prosecuted the case that was moved from Audrain to Chariton county on a venue change.
Clampitt is already serving a two-year prison sentence for leaving the scene of an accident.
He will be sentenced on Feb. 6.
