Power restored to northern Boone County areas

More than 2,000 Boone Electric customers were without power for hours on Saturday.

The company said power was fully restored by about 4 p.m., with the majority of the outage focused on Hallsville in northern Boone County.

On the company’s Facebook page, representatives said the problem was with a transformer at a substation near Hallsville. To restore power, a mobile substation and the new Harrisburg substation were routed to that unit.

Other area utilities had minor outages spread across mid-Missouri, but by Saturday afternoon the number of customers still without electricity was in the single digits.
