Two injured in fiery Callaway County car crash

Two people were injured in a car accident Tuesday afternoon. The wreck happened on Highway 94 in Callaway County around 5:30 p.m.

Jefferson City police tell ABC 17 News a Jeep Grand Cherokee pulled into the path of a Jeep Wrangler.

The Grand Cherokee caught fire and the driver, Katherine O’Neal from Holts Summit, was trapped inside. Firefighters got O’Neal out, and an ambulance took her to University Hospital with serious burn injuries.

The second driver, Laura Adamik from Tebbits, Mo., was taken to a Jefferson City hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

Police say both drivers appear to have been wearing their seat belts.
