Police find multiple guns, knives and ammunition in man’s car

Police arrested a Columbia man following a fight Monday and found numerous weapons in his car.

Officers say they were responding to a disturbance involving weapons in the 2000 block of McKee Street Monday afternoon when they saw a truck matching the suspect’s description. The officers followed the truck to the Walmart on Conley Road.

Officers arrested 19-year-old Kevin Gruer in the parking lot for allegedly pointing a gun at the victim during the disturbance on McKee.

Inside his car, police found shotguns, a rifle, multiple knives and rounds of ammunition.

Gruer was arrested for second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. He posted $9,000 bond and was released from the Boone County Jail.
