Road crews to shut down Route 179 to clear accident
Missouri Department of Transportation crews will shut down Route 179 in Cole County to clear an accident.
The agency says an Allied Equipment Sales Company, Inc. tractor trailer hauling a crane crashed on Route 179, south of Route T around 11:45 a.m.
MoDOT will close the entire road Wednesday afternoon to clear the accident, however, a specific time has not been given for the closure. Another crane is being brought in from Sedalia to remove the one involve din the accident.
Crews hope to fluctuate between closing the road and keeping one lane open to help alleviate traffic in the area.
MoDOT says all commuters should seek an alternate route because “significant” delays will be possible.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not seriously injured.
