Scam targets River Region Credit Union
A central Missouri credit union is warning area residents about a scam.
River Region Credit Union announced Monday the company was recently targeted by a fraudulent ‘phishing’ scam.
Residents – both members and non-members – have been contacted via text messages and emails, by someone posing as the credit union. The scammer asks for personal and account information.
River Region Credit Union says they will never verify sensitive information through an automated phone service, email or text.
