Troopers find 102 pounds of marijuana during traffic stop

Troopers seized more than 100 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Interstate 70.

On Monday, a trooper pulled over a car on eastbound I-70 in Cooper County for a traffic violation.

The trooper asked the driver to search the car after the driver started acting strangely. When the driver denied the search, a Highway Patrol K-9 unit was called to the scene. The dog gave a positive indication that there were drugs in the car, and following a search, troopers found 102 pounds of marijuana hidden in the trunk and the backseat.

Troopers arrested Gary L. Pinson, 64, of Rock Hill, S.C., on a charge of first-degree drug trafficking.
