Missouri head football coach Gary Pinkel semifinalist for Coach of the Year award

The University of Missouri head football coach Gary Pinkel has been named a semifinalist for the Maxwell Coach of the Year.

Week after week the team has been making headlines; the team is currently ranked eighth in the country and players are honored by the conference through out the season.

Last year the team went 5-7 in their first year in one of the hardest football conferences in the country.

Pinkel turning the season around with this team.

The team’s only loss is because of a missed field goal in double overtime.

After 13 seasons, Pinkel is one win away from his 100th and on his way to becoming the winningest coach at the ‘zou.

Pinkel trails legendary coach Don Faurot in wins by two. If he gets those two wins, he will tie coach Faurot, and the Tigers will win the SEC East title.

The team is in control of their own destiny in the hunt for that title.
