Jefferson City man arrested on child porn charges

A Jefferson City man was arrested Friday for promoting child pornography involving children under the age of 14.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department Cyber Crimes Task Force say officers arrested 31-year-old Christopher G. Blickenstaff after a three-month investigation.

In August, a task force investigator downloaded child porn from a home computer network in central Missouri. Then in September, an investigator with the Clinton, Mo. Police Department downloaded child porn from the same network. The files were traced back to a Jefferson City home.

Officers searched the residence Friday morning and arrested Blickenstaff for first-degree promoting child pornography involving minors under the age of 14.

Blickenstaff remains in the Cole County Jail pending formal charges.
