Crusaders knocking off opponents, records game by game

The Helias Crusaders fought their way to the district title game in record fashion, knocking off 11-school records so far this year.

J.C. Szumigala is Helias’ kicker. He set the school record for most extra points in a season. He also set the school record for most extra points in a game (11), passing John Daly (yes, the pro golfer). In fact, Daly congratulated Szumigala on Twitter after the senior broke the record.

Of course, Szumigala cannot get all those points without a strong offense. Quarterback Wyatt Porter and running back Garrett Buschjost also have either tied or set new school records this season.
