No decision made in case of suspended Ashland alderman

A suspended Ashland alderman still does not know if he will be reinstated or impeached after a hearing held on Monday.

Jeff Anderson was suspended from his position as alderman in September and he attempted to get his position back while in court.

He not only hoped to be reinstated, but he also wanted the city of Ashland to pay his legal fees, get a formal retraction on his suspension, regain access to his city email, and make all decisions made by the city since the meeting on Sept. 17 nullified.

The judge took Anderson’s case under advisement, meaning he did not make a ruling.

The city has already drafted impeachment papers, and has an impeachment meeting set for Nov. 11.

In the meantime, Ward 2 in Ashland is down a leader, and the continuing court costs are adding to a bill footed by taxpayers.
