Home daycare fire ruled “suspicious”

A Saturday fire at a Cole County home daycare has been ruled “suspicious,” according to investigators.

Cole County fire crews said the investigation into the cause had sparked some uncertainty in the hours after the fire on Bagnell Drive.

Damage was estimated into the thousands of dollars, but affected only toys outside the home and siding. No damage was reported inside the building. No one was hurt.

Crews told ABC 17 News Saturday evening the business expected to be back open on Monday.
