Man arrested after high-speed car chase in Hallsville

A man is in custody after a high-speed car chase Wednesday night in Hallsville.

Authorities tried to pull over Colin Russell, 24, of Hallsville, around 9:30 p.m. on Highway 124, just north of the town. The chase continued on Old Highway 124 and ended on Davenport Road.

Police discovered the vehicle, but Russell was not in it. Officials say he ditched his truck then ran to his home.

Russell was arrested on eight charges, including resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license.

He remained in the Boone County Jail on a $7,000 bond as of Thursday afternoon.
