Shots fired during college party at Aspen Heights

A large college party ended early Sunday morning after a group was denied entry and left, firing guns into the air.

Columbia police said 20 to 30 people had gathered around 2 a.m. in the 3500 block of Aspen Heights Parkway for the party.

The two unknown suspects tried to get into the party, started being disruptive, then left and fired several rounds into the air.

Police said in a news release Sunday afternoon that no one reported injuries or property damage.

Residents at the student housing complex told ABC 17 News they heard about 3 shots during the incident.

The shots fired incident comes one day after the final students moved into the complex, after a delay due to construction disputes.
