Boy found wandering in Fulton

Police in Fulton are investigating after they say a 5-year-old autistic boy wandered into a gas station alone.

Around 5 a.m. Friday, police were called to the Fastlane on Amerihost Drive in reference to a child that came in without a parent. Officers were able to identify the child through previous contact and knew his parents.

Investigators found the child’s parents, Blain and Hollie Johnson, still asleep at the Westwood Motel.

Police determined that the child had left sometime after midnight and crossed U.S. Highway 54 to get to the Fastlane store.

Blain Johnson was taken into custody for violation of a full order of protection, his second offense.

The Division of Family Services along with the Juvenile Office were also contacted.

The investigation continues and criminal charges are pending.
