Law enforcement respond to standoff situation in Eldon

Police in Eldon responded to a standoff situation early Tuesday morning.

Around 2:42 a.m., police got a call that a man may have been held against his will and that the suspects were armed.

Police responded to the home in the area of South Grand. Officers could see people inside but nobody would answer the door.

Officers backed up then set up a perimeter. Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers and the Miller County Sheriff’s Department also responded.

As law enforcement were getting ready to enter the house, several people came out.

Police say the scene is secure and the investigation is ongoing.
