Columbia man in jail for arson

A Columbia man is now in jail in relation to an Aug. 23 fire.

The fire happened in south Columbia in the 1300 block of Dunbar Drive.

Police say James Tharp was arrested for first-degree arson on Aug. 24th, but was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

On Tuesday, Tharp was released from the hospital and transported to the Boone County Jail.
