New charges filed in 2010 Lake of the Ozarks murder
New charges were filed in a Lake of the Ozarks murder case.
The Camden County prosecutor filed forgery and two counts of first-degree murder against Susan “Liz” Van Note in the 2010 murder of her father, William van Note, and his girlfriend, Sharon Dickson.
Van Note had previously been charged in Boone County, but those charges have since been dismissed.
She is accused of shooting her father and his girlfriend at their lake vacation home in 2010. Dickson died at the home, but William Van Note survived the shooting and was taken to a hospital in Boone County.
Investigators say Van Note forged her father’s signature on documents that took him off life support. He then died a few days later.
In Oct. 2012, she posted a $1 million cash-only bond and was released from jail.
The Camden County prosecutor also dropped charges against Stacey and Desre Dory of Shawnee, Kan., two friends of Susan Van Note who had been accused of aiding the forgery.
