Columbia man arrested after chase with gun
A Columbia was arrested early Sunday morning for leading officers on a chase and ditching a gun.
Daniel Cohen, 26, could now face charges of unlawful use of a weapon, tampering with evidence and resisting arrest, Police said in a news release he also had an outstanding warrant for a traffic violation.
A witness approached an officer on foot outside Roxy’s Bar at 1025 East Broadway at 1:12 a.m. Sunday. That person said Cohen had just left the bar and was carrying his firearm.
When officers approached Cohen, they said he took off running and threw the gun under a car.
Cohen was in the Boone County Jail Sunday on more than $13,000 bond.
