Fulton man arrested for armed Columbia robbery
Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested a Fulton man for an armed robbery on Monday.
Columbia police say officers were called to Club Court around 4:20 p.m. for a robbery in progress. Officers say the homeowner, a 63-year-old man, saw 32-year-old Dustin James Maupin in his backyard.
When the victim opened the door, Maupin forced his way inside the home, according to police.
Officers say Maupin threatened the victim with a knife and demanded keys to the victim’s truck. The man was not injured during the robbery.
Soon after, a Columbia police officer saw the stolen truck traveling northbound on Route B. A Highway Patrol trooper in the area began to pursue the truck into Hallsville.
Troopers took Maupin into custody and he was arrested on charges of armed criminal action, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, felony stealing and resisting arrested.
He’s being held in the Boone County Jail.
