Man arrested for bomb threat at Pulaski County Courthouse

Authorities arrested a Dixon, Mo. man after a bomb threat closed the Pulaski County courthouse on Tuesday.

Joshua Lachowicz, 32, was arrested Thursday night by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department and Dixon police.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department said they received the threat early Tuesday morning, causing authorities to close Pulaski County government offices and courts.

The caller stated a bomb had been place in a specific judge’s courtroom.

Due to “additional circumstance accompanying the call,” officials requested the help of bomb detection dogs and the Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit from Fort Leonard Wood. The bomb teams performed an extensive search of the courthouse, causing the building to be closed for the entire day.

No explosives were found and authorities declared the building as safe.

Lachowicz was arrested on charges of making a terroristic threat and tampering with a judicial proceeding.

According to online court records,Lachowicz had been scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Tuesday for a probation violation hearing stemming from a previous misdemeanor theft/stealing charge.

He is being held in the Pulaski County Jail on a $1 million bond.
