Man riding lawnmower falls off cliff into the Osage River
A Cole County man is in the hospital after going over a cliff and falling six stories into the Osage River.
The Cole County Sheriff’s Office said the man was on a riding lawnmower when he backed into a retaining wall Tuesday evening. The wall gave way and the man fell 65 feet into the river.
Sheriff Greg White said the Osage River is running low, which extended the drop.
The man was taken to an area hospital, but his condition is unknown.
