Search for missing woman continues after items found

More than 200 volunteers continued the search for a missing Buckner, Mo. woman who went missing in Benton County July 13.

Hellen Cook, 72, has been missing for nearly two weeks when she wandered away from a home in Warsaw. She suffered from Alzheimer’s and her family and authorities believe she may have become confused and attempted to walk back to the family’s other home in Buckner.

Investigators located a number of items that may or may not belong to Cook, but they would would not elaborate on the items, according to WDAF. Authorities said they are in the process of trying to determine if they are in any way related to Cook.

Volunteers told ABC 17 News Cook’s shoes and scarf were found in the search and possibly a pair of boots that may belong to her. They say helicopters and boats have been a part of the search Thursday.

Updates can be found on a Facebook page set up by Cook’s family and friends.
