Woman arrested for shooting and assault in Columbia

A woman connected to a June shooting and dispute was arrested Monday in Boone County.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested 32-year-old Tabisha N. Franklin on charges of first-degree assault, armed criminal action and several failure to appear warrants.

Authorities say Franklin and 23-year-old Kimo Spivey were involved in the June 21 shooting and assault of two victims off Old Highway 63 near Stephens Lake Park. Columbia police say Spivey shot at the victims, but no one was injured.

Police then say Franklin assaulted one of the victims with a tire iron. That victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Boone County prosecutors formally charged Franklin with first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

She is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment Tuesday afternoon.

Her bond has been set at $210,000 cash-only and she remains in the Boone County Jail.

Spivey is still on the run. He is described as a black male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 225 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Columbia Police Department,573-442-6131, or CrimeStoppers at 573-875-TIPS.
